Naturopathic Physician and Biofeedback Therapist

You are your most important untapped resource

Welcome! I am Dr. Debbie Miller, a board-certified biofeedback practitioner and naturopathic physician practicing in Seattle, WA.

I specialize in helping people heal from the physical and emotional effects of chronic stress. Whether stress manifests as anxiety, panic, high blood pressure, digestive issues, headaches, or something else entirely — these symptoms put vast limitations on our quality of life, and prevent us from living to our fullest potential.

Fortunately, the human body and mind are resilient and trainable. Biofeedback uses the most precious, important, and accessible resource of all: YOU.

Why I chose to focus on biofeedback

Your own body is something you have with you at ALL TIMES, and a stressed nervous system is a major contributing factor to many conditions. Biofeedback is tangible and empowering, and helps to address both the physical AND emotional aspects of chronic stress. Biofeedback helps people cultivate emotional flexibility and resiliency, and helps address many physical symptoms that can be so limiting. Additionally, many experience improved sleep, focus, immune function, and increased ability to connect with others.

Biofeedback is an investment in your current and future self.

How I practice

I will be your coach, your teacher, and your cheerleader. In western medicine, we often go the doctor to get “fixed.” My approach differs from this because: 1) I don’t view anyone as broken (unless you broke a bone in which case - go to the ER instead!) and 2) biofeedback is an active training process. While you learn and master specific biofeedback techniques, you will become an expert on your own body. You are the change-maker, and I’ll be there to guide and support you throughout the process.

My training as a naturopathic physician deeply informs the way I work with people. I view each individual as a whole person and take in to consideration several factors that might be influencing health and the root causes of disease.

About me

I earned my doctorate in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University, and my undergraduate degree from Brandeis University. I am board certified through the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance, and an active member of the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback.  In addition to my practice, I serve as adjunct faculty at Bastyr University in the department of Naturopathic Medicine.

I am also a musician and singer/songwriter/performer, and I wholly believe in the value of creative practice and humor in the healing process. As a native New Yorker and ardent birder, I remain in constant awe of all of the beauty the magical Pacific Northwest has to offer.

Biofeedback with Dr. Miller changed my life in a huge and very meaningful way which is hard to truly express.

In my spare time, I also make stick figure drawings about life and biofeedback. I hope you enjoy.
